A Comparison of Medovie’s 3HX™ Formula Versus Aloe Vera for Psoriasis Management

Psoriasis is a pervasive skin disorder that affects millions of individuals worldwide. It can cause red, itchy patches on the skin and pain and discomfort. While many medications are available for psoriasis treatment, some people prefer to use natural remedies such as aloe vera gel.

In this blog post, we will take a closer look at aloe vera and Medovie’s 3HX™ formula and compare them in terms of efficacy, discuss their long-term use benefits, and explore other possible natural remedies for psoriasis relief. Finally, we will compare these two powerful ingredients to help you decide which is best to relieve symptoms and restore your scalp health!

What Is Psoriasis, And What Are The Symptoms Of This Condition?

According to National Psoriasis Foundation, psoriasis is a complex immune-mediated disease that triggers inflammation across the body. It most commonly affects areas such as elbows, knees, and scalp; however, it may occur at any location throughout the body.

Stemming from an overactive immune system, it has no confirmed root cause. Instead, it occurs when the body’s immune system mistakenly signals to produce extra skin cells, resulting in inflamed and scaly skin patches. These typically range from small spots to larger, raised areas which can be very itchy or painful.

Depending on the severity of its manifestation, psoriasis can have an uncomfortable physical and psychological toll on an individual, increasing the risk of anxiety and depression. Symptoms associated with psoriasis may include redness and inflammation around affected areas, thickened lesions covered with white or silver scales around affected areas that may crack and bleed if disturbed, and discolored nails. In lighter cases, a person may not experience any symptoms at all.

What Are The Traditional Treatments For Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition requiring specialized treatments. Traditional treatments for psoriasis include topical therapy, light therapy, oral or injected medications, systemic therapies, and alternative medicine.

Topical Therapy.

Topical corticosteroids can treat mild to moderate psoriasis, usually paired with vitamin D analogs such as calcipotriol or calcitriol ointment.

For more severe cases of psoriasis, topical corticosteroids may need to combine with other topical creams or ointments such as vitamin A derivatives (retinoids), vitamin D (such as calcipotriene), or coal tar (usually for scalp psoriasis, available in many forms like lotions, creams, and even shampoos).

Light Therapy.

Light therapy can also treat specific skin symptoms, mainly by exposing the skin to UVB broadband radiation or narrowband phototherapy.

Oral or Injected Medication and Systemic Medication.

Oral medications such as retinoids are another viable option for treating psoriasis effectively, and in some cases, systemic medications such as Immunosuppressant drugs may also be necessary.

Alternative Medicine.

Psoriasis is a long-term skin condition that can be difficult to manage. Thankfully, various natural and alternative treatments are available that may provide relief. Some herbal and natural remedies include using aloe vera gel which contains anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce redness and scaling.

Additionally, Traditional Chinese Medicine-based products such as Medovie, Ayurvedic medicine (traditional Indian medicine), and natural supplements like fish oils or Vitamin D3 may help ease psoriasis. If natural treatments don’t offer enough relief, more conventional treatment options like corticosteroids, retinoids, or calcipotriene are available through a doctor’s prescription.

What Are The Benefits Of Using An Alternative Natural Shampoo For Psoriasis?

Hydrocortisone, salicylic acid, and coal tar ointments may relieve psoriasis; however, they can be harsh on the scalp due to their medication-level solid ingredients.

For people with milder forms of psoriasis, an alternative solution may be using more natural shampoos such as Aloe Vera-based shampoo. These gentle shampoos provide a cooling effect that can help soothe any intense itching or burning sensations often caused by psoriasis flare-ups. In addition, they benefit from being hypoallergenic, thus reducing the likelihood of further irritation.

Aloe Vera For Psoriasis Treatment: Does It Work?

For centuries, aloe vera has been renowned for its therapeutic properties. This spiny succulent plant, which typically thrives in warm climates, is known to have gel-filled leaves that are beneficial in treating various skin conditions such as psoriasis. Aloe vera gel is widely practiced in traditional medicines worldwide, especially for skincare. It is used as a lubricating agent to keep skin hydrated.

A controlled study has found that combining propolis (50%) and aloe vera (3%) in ointment form can provide substantial relief for those suffering from mild to moderate psoriasis. In addition, the results revealed the therapeutic properties of these natural products, providing a great alternative treatment option.

A randomized clinical trial comparing the efficiency of aloe vera and 0.1% Triamcinolone topical for mild to moderate plaque psoriasis reveals that aloe vera cream might be the more powerful option for relieving psoriasis symptoms compared to 0.1% TA cream.

Applying freshly-squeezed Aloe Vera gel directly onto affected areas is recommended to get the best and safest results in mild psoriasis symptoms. Moreover, the National Psoriasis Foundation suggests using creams with 0.5% aloe and that the aloe vera gel can be applied up to three times a day for relief and comfort.

If you’re considering adding aloe vera gel to your skincare routine, you must speak with a medical professional, especially if you have psoriasis. If you experience any allergic reaction to it, it is best to discontinue its use.
